Luscious Lube, Slightly Stimulating

This month I got to try out the spot-on g-spot stimulating gel by Doc Johnson. The idea behind the gel (which looks and feels more like lotion than anything else) is to arouse the g-spot, intensifying a girl’s pleasure when something presses against the g-spot.

The primary use of the gel is for a girl when she’s wanting to experience more intense internal stimulation, either from a guy or from a toy. Using the gel is very easy. Even though the online description says that the gel is clear, it’s not. It’s a milky colored, lightly peppermint scented lotion that is actually quite inviting. It does have a great moisturizing nature, which is probably my favorite feature of the whole thing. Performance

I’m torn on how to rate this gel’s performance. I love it for the lubrication and moisture aspect, but when I used the gel alone, I couldn’t tell any additional intensity or other benefits. When I used this gel with my partner, however, I was much, much more sensitive than before and things felt way more intense. I’d say to get any real stimulating benefit from this gel, you need to be doing some heavy g-spot play.

Maintenance

Clean up is very easy with this gel. It washes off easily with soap and water, leaving absolutely no sticky or weird smelling residue. Your skin will feel a bit moisturized, though, which I think is a plus! The container itself has an easy snap lid that stays in place quite well, so there isn’t much clean up there, either. I wouldn’t keep the container in a hot car in the middle of summer in Texas or a freezer, but so far it seems like the gel and the container stand up quite well to normal storage conditions.

Ladies: Meet Your Substitute Boyfriend

This month (and a half, but that story comes later) I tried out the Vibrating Realistic — Realistic Vibrator from Doc Johnson. As usual, the toy was delivered promptly and in a normal, discrete USPS box. The box inside, however, the one you’d get at an actual store, is anything but discrete! This bad boy looks pretty intimidating on first glance as well, since he clocks in at 8 inches long and 2 inches in diameter and has some pretty hefty balls attached. This one is not for a beginner, but he’s not nearly as scary as he sounds or looks.

Use

Since this guy is molded from a cock and looks like a cock, it’s pretty much best to use it like you would a cock. It does have a vibrating tip, so you can use it elsewhere for vibrating stimulation, but I found it best to use as my substitute boyfriend when I can’t actually have him. This vibrator is made of rubber, though, so you will notice a strong smell right when you open the box. The smell goes away to nearly nothing after washing, so I’d recommend washing this guy (along with all toys) before use.

Design/Features

The vibrations in this guy are controlled by a remote that attaches to a cord plugged into the base of the vibrator. The remote can be detached from the cord, but the cord SHOULD NOT be detached from the vibrator. If the cord does come out, the instructions that come with the toy give a few tips for how to reattach. On the remote, you have several features. You have on and off, which are separate switches from the levels… a feature I LOVE in toys with variable levels. There are about seven different levels of intensity variation to the vibration. As mentioned, the vibrating part is located at the tip of the toy, so if you are using this primarily for the vibrations, you’re not going to get anything at all from the base of the toy. Oh, and don’t believe the listing online about batteries. You will need 3 AAA batteries, NOT AA batteries.

The structure is nice, too. The rubber means that this guy isn’t completely hard, though he’s definitely hard enough to insert and use as substitute boyfriend! I like the give he has since it means he’s not going to be totally unforgiving of my movements. There is also a suction cup base that works relatively well against most bathroom-type surfaces and floors. If you’re creative, you can also use the suction cup as a base to fit through an o-ring to make this a more realistic looking strap on dildo. I haven’t had the opportunity to try this completely with a partner yet, but it’s on the list.

Performance

Since this guy is a little bigger, I recommend either making sure you’re really warmed up first or using a little lube to get things going. The fact that he’s a little forgiving helps, but you still don’t want to stick or force things. For me, the vibration on the tip does nothing at all once inserted, but there is enough there to easily get me off when using the toy against my clit. This guy still feels the most realistic of any toy I’ve tried thus far, but my personal preference would be to either have a little something extra to grind against as well, or a little vibration at or near the base. If you’re the type that you can’t get off with purely penetration, this is probably not the toy for you, unless you want to add another something to the mix. As far as satisfying penetration goes, however, this guy takes top honors in my book.

Maintenance

The only difficult part of maintenance is making sure not to pull out the cord attached to the toy. It’s easy to clean with soap and hot water, and all the evidence of your fun is very easily washed away. Do not get the controller wet, however, since it is not waterproof and water and batteries do not mix well. This guy comes with his own little storage bag to keep him clean in between uses, but I still recommend washing before each use to help negate some of the rubber smell.

Eden Experience

So here’s the story I promised at the very beginning of this review. When I first received this toy, I took him out of the box immediately, all excited to have a new toy to try out. And then… Nothing. Tried different batteries, tried everything else I could think of, and nothing happened. As it turns out, Eden has a FANTASTIC return policy, and they make it easier than pie to return. Put broken toy back in original packaging (both inner box and shipping box), fill out return form online, print return label, and head down to the UPS or USPS store. Seriously, that’s it. No shipping charges, no fuss, nothing. I had my new, working toy within a week of putting my original broken one in the mail. Moral of the story: Don’t despair if your purchase isn’t what you expected! Eden’s return program will help!

Overall, this is a pretty good realistic vibrator. For those of you in long distance relationships and missing certain parts of your partner, I’d definitely recommend this guy. He may not be for everyone (if you don’t like big toys or need more than penetration, look elsewhere), but for those of us who enjoy realistic, this is a keeper.

Great Idea, Awful Execution

The double dong with harness by Cal Exotics is a fantastic idea for those that like the idea of strap on play, but the execution of the whole thing is simply horrible. When I chose this toy for this month’s review, I kept an open mind. I was a bit optimistic since penetration for both of us, simultaneously, would be fantastic! Getting all of that for not too much money would be even better, but alas, sometimes you do indeed get what you pay for. We tried this toy a couple of times to make sure we got the hang of it, but still, not very thrilling. He liked it, but it’s not all that great for the wearer. More on all of that later.

Use

The use of the double dong with harness should be fairly obvious: girl wears harness with the shorter  dildo (attached on the inside of the harness) inside her, then she has another dildo to use on any other partner. It’s a strap on that lets the girl get a little extra, too… or at least that’s the idea. The shorter dildo is rather thick, so the user does need to make sure she’s aroused before inserting it. The shortness is actually a detriment here, too, since it means the dildo doesn’t stay in place very well. The harness unfortunately does not hold the dildo in place, either.

The longer, external dildo, however, is a bit more functional. It’s a great size for most people: It’s not too huge, not too hard, generally a pretty comfortable, yet pleasurable size. Over time, however, the material will soften, making it more difficult to insert or use.

Design/Features

The design is nothing short of cheap and not built to last or really even fit properly. The “leather” is rough, though strong. Don’t take the dimensions given online or on the box. By the fit description given, I should have had absolutely no problem whatsoever adjusting the straps to fit me, since they are adjustable on both sides to fit just about anyone. In reality, however, I could barely get the harness to fit on both sides of my hips, which was disappointing. One doesn’t really want to be frustrated or worrying over not fitting into things at the beginning of sexy time.

As mentioned above, the material both of the dildos is made of is cheap and will wear down very quickly. The shorter dildo doesn’t stay in place and is actually somewhat uncomfortable to try to keep in the proper place. The dildos are glued onto the straps, too, so those aren’t going to hold for long.

Performance

The performance from my end was excessively underwhelming. There was no way I was ever going to get off on this thing, especially after the frustration of trying to get the whole contraption on just right and keeping it on. From his end, he enjoyed the size of the dildo, though he said that once the material starts to soften the toy will lose its impact. If you’re looking for a toy you can both enjoy being penetrated by, you’re better off spending more and getting something of good quality.

Maintenance

Taking care of this contraption is actually relatively easy. Just wash in soap and water and you’re good. I have no idea how to clean this thing without being too abrasive against the glue that holds everything together, however. The straps so far haven’t reacted at all to water, so I’d say they are safe in water, though I’d refrain from full submersion.

Overall, save your money and get something else of higher quality. This double dong with harness is very cheaply made and will be more of a frustration than a pleasure experience.

The personalizable vibe

The Flexi G-spot vibrator by Cal Exotics was this month’s toy to try out. This particular vibrator was unique because I’ve never had the chance to use a flexible vibe before. I wasn’t sure what to expect: Would it be too soft, bending all over, or would the “flexible” be an over exaggeration? To my delight, it was neither. The perfect amount of “bendy” made this a toy that can adjust to any woman’s anatomy, which is what we all dream of.

Use

While vibrators can be used all over, I think the best use of this particular one is vaginally. It has terrific little studs (don’t worry, they’re soft) at the base that will press against the clit and labia lightly once you’ve adjusted the toy to fit you perfectly. The easiest way to adjust the toy is to see just how much you’d need it to bend once you’ve inserted it to hit just what you want. Then pull the vibe back out and use your hands to bend it to that point. If you try to adjust the angle internally, it may hurt a little since this little guy is meant to hold his shape while still remaining adjustable. I guess you could use it anally or as a little teaser in other places, but in those areas it’s just like any other vibe.

Design/Features

There are 10 different levels of vibrations with varying intensities and patterns. The on/off and level controls are located on the base, making it easy to use and adjust. The toy itself looks a little intimidating at first, but once you touch it, you’re more than curious. The colors are really pretty (mine was purple) and the texture is so smooth. The shape just fits. It’s comfortable to insert and use, which of course makes it all the easier to get off on it.

Performance

This little guy packs one powerful punch! He takes three AAA batteries, but boy, you can feel those little batteries. Almost all of the vibration levels are pretty intense, so this isn’t necessarily for those who can’t take strong stimulation. For me, however, once I found my favorite setting, I was good to go with this vibe. I’ve played with it fairly regularly for about a month and still have yet to change out the batteries.

Maintenance

The best part of this waterproof vibrator is that it’s super easy to clean and store. Wash in warm water and soap, then toss in your toy chest. Done! I’d recommend at least rinsing before using, though, since the texture can make some fuzz stick to the shaft.

Overall, this is a great vibrator for those who know they like strong vibrators. It adjusts to you personally and lasts. The material is good quality, and it doesn’t have that funky plastic smell that some toys have. It satisfies without making you work too terribly hard for it, because let’s face it, when it’s toy time, you just want to relax and go to your happy place.

In a Tight Pinch

This past month I had the pleasure? pain? some combination of both? chance to try out a nice pair of black metal butterfly clamps. These aren’t for the faint of heart! My partner and I both enjoy nipple play, but these require some care so that they don’t pinch too much.

Use

The primary use of the butterfly clamps is to clamp the nipples, duh. You can also use them to clamp skin anywhere else on the body, though they do clamp quite tightly, so choose your spots wisely. Like me, for instance, I couldn’t stand having my labia clamped with these because it was just too much of a pinch. A word of advice, especially if you’re new to clamps (in which case I’d start with something lighter, like clothespins, and work your way up to these guys), get a good amount of skin in the clamp. For example, if you’re clamping the nipples, clamp right under the nipple, pulling the whole nipple through the clamp, rather than pinching right on it. You’ll get much better sensation and staying power that way.

You can use the clamps alone, or with a partner. They can definitely be worn during sex, which adds a lot of fun to it. Tugging on the chain causes the clamps to feel like they’re tightening a bit, so it’s a great way to get your partner’s attention!

Design/Features

I love the look of these clamps. They are the standard butterfly clamp shape, connected by about a foot long metal chain, all in black. They don’t look big and bulky, though they would show under a t-shirt or something like that. There’s some weight to these guys, though. You may hold them in your hand and think “oh, that’s not so bad, I expected metal to be heavier!” Just wait until they are being held up only by tender bits of skin, then see just how light they are!

Watch out for the pads that actually hold the skin, however. There are four little teeth on each pad (two pads on each clamp) that are meant to keep the clamp from moving around. They do that job quite well, though if you pull too hard on the chain or don’t release the clamp far enough when taking it off, these teeth can pull at your skin in a very not happy way. They’ll also leave little marks on your skin for a little while (the longer you wear, the longer the marks). These aren’t necessarily bad, just something to be aware of.

Performance

If you’re looking for good nipple play with an intense pinch, you’ve come to the right place. These will also work great if you like your labia or scrotum pinched, too. Be careful, the removal is more painful than the application. Overall, however, these work exactly as they are supposed to. They clamp you tight, causing lots of interesting sensations, and the chain between that causes the weight to shift as you move keeps you oh-so-keenly aware of your pinched bits. Keep in mind that since they are tight, they do cut off circulation, though, so the amount of time they are worn in a setting should be limited. As with every other toy out there, keep an eye on things and be aware of nerve/circulation issues and all will be fine and dandy.

Maintenance

Since the metal is coated on these clamps, clean up is super easy. Wash them in warm water with soap, dry them off, put them away for another day. Seriously, how easy is that? You can boil them if you need to disinfect them, too. Since they are metal, though, I’d really stress the drying them off afterwards just to keep that chance of rust down to a minimum. I’ve used mine a good half dozen times over the past month and there’s still no sign of rusting, but taking good care of your toys is what makes sure they last.

Overall, I’d say these are a keeper. They definitely add a different spice to play, either alone or with a partner. These aren’t for beginners to nipple play, but if you already know you like having ’em bitten, pinched, or otherwise tortured, you’re going to LOVE these!

Delivers on the Stinging Smacks

Overall, the Lover’s Super Strap Riding Crop is a decent crop. It smacks like you’d want it to, and easily. It’s great for a not super expensive starter crop when you need something more than just your hand or the old wooden paddle.

Let’s be blunt here, a crop’s primary purpose in life is to strike things (or people). It works quite well as an object with which to inflict pain, or tease slightly, depending on the force behind the strike. To be on the using end, you should probably like the feeling of having a little power over someone else and the feeling of turning that nice clear skin a lovely shade of pink or red. If you’re going to be on the receiving end of this crop, you should probably like a little pain from impact. That pain can range from nothing more than a little teasing tap to a fairly substantial wallop. I’d also recommend sticking to more fleshy areas for impact, such as the thighs, breasts, or butt. You can hit harder there without risking damage to the recipient.

I’d say this particular crop is great for beginners because of the quality of the product. It’ll work for you, but it’s not the highest end most expensive product out there. That’s great if you’re just wanting to try something out to see if you like it. The size of this crop is spot on. It fits easily into your hand and is light enough to keep going without your arm getting too tired. Personally, I’m a bit of a leather snob, so I’d prefer something a little higher quality. This crop will definitely get the job done, however. You can even turn the edge of the crop onto its side to lightly trace along the body for a good sensation tease, so this is a multifunctional toy.

As far as quality goes, I’m honestly not sure how long it’ll last. We’ve used this one several times (actually fairly regularly) and it works just fine, but because it’s so light I wouldn’t be surprised if either the stick part snapped after a particularly hard blow or something like that. Do keep in mind, however, that this snapping would be after a good bit of use. We have subjected it to some rather intense strikes and nothing yet.

Performance

Having been on both ends of the Lover’s Super Strap Riding Crop, I think this is a pretty good crop. It stings when it hits, which is what it’s supposed to do, but doesn’t have rough edges that will cut or irritate the skin. It allows you to get a good angle to deliver a good hit that your partner will feel without tons of effort on your part. This is also something to look out for, though. Don’t go in totally walloping thinking you’ll have to work for the impact. This crop will do a good bit of that for you, at least until your partner gets warmed up enough to stand the hard hits.

Care and Maintenance

There really isn’t much to taking care of the crop. Wipe it down to clean it up and then put it away and you’re done. Make sure it’s kept in a place that won’t bend the crop since you don’t want any curves in the stick part or the flap on the top. Other than that, easy peasy.

Tickles and Tingles

The Wartenberg pinwheel is a great introductory (or good standby) toy for sensation play. It’s ease in use all over the body makes it a good choice for exploring your partner’s body or having your partner explore yours. Even though the sharp points may look scary, they can be used in so many ways that you really shouldn’t be afraid of it until you’ve given it a try.

This product is so diverse, I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t get at least something out of using a pinwheel! At first I was skeptical, though extremely curious, about using a pinwheel, simply because I knew it could be sharp and I hadn’t experienced sharp sensation play yet. The pinwheel is the perfect introductory tool for anything sharp, however, since it can be used with a light touch, as something that almost tickles gliding over the skin, or with harder pressure so the recipient can actually feel the sharp pricks. Keep that in mind, however, and consider storing your pinwheel in something protective so you don’t accidentally grab the head of it and hurt yourself in a not so fun way. The head is small, but that’s perfectly fine for concentrating all the sensations on a couple of spikes at a time as they roll across the skin. Anything larger and the spikes would be too far apart to get the desired sensations.

Performance

Personally, I loved the pinwheel and continue to use it on a regular basis. Depending on pressure, you can evoke a wide variety of sensations, which makes it the perfect warm up toy. How fast you roll the pinwheel across the skin can affect the perception as well. The faster it goes, the more sharp the pricks feel. I love the variety of things I can use it for in sensation play, all the way from light tingles to sharp pricks makes it so versatile.

Care and Maintenance

The Comfy Cuffs

With great strength and flexibility combined into one product, you can’t go wrong with the Jaguar Cuffs. They’ll hold you tight, but without pinching, pulling, chafing, or any of the other uncomfortable things that can go along with some rougher cuffs. These are definitely worth the price since they last so long and you’ll want to use them over and over and over.

Pros: Easily adjustable for use as wrist or ankle cuffs, smooth against the skin.

Cons: The red dye will bleed if you sweat a lot and wear them for a long time.

Use

These cuffs are great for anyone interested in restraining the ankles or wrists. They are easy to put on and adjust, assuming you are putting them on someone else and not on yourself, so they would work for both beginners and advanced users. My favorite usage of these particular cuffs is on the wrists since they come with a short chain to join them together. They’re also great to build off of if you want to incorporate some rope for advanced bondage.

These cuffs look great, too, so they are great for play parties or fetish parties as well as just in the bedroom. I wouldn’t recommend getting them wet, however, since they are made of leather. They’re lightweight and compact, so they can easily be thrown into your suitcase for a weekend adventure.

Design/Craftsmanship/Material/Size/Fit

These leather and suede cuffs are very well made. They are sturdy, even with substantial pulling. The leather and suede is soft, so it won’t chafe, and they are super comfortable to wear, even when pulled tight. The smooth feel of leather against the tender underside of the wrist is a great little bit of sensation play to add to the restraint play. Since they fasten with a buckle, they are adjustable to nearly any size. This makes them great for ankle cuffs as well as wrist cuffs. They can tighten well enough to hold the smallest wrist firm, yet expand far enough to hold an ankle without cutting off circulation.

Performance

Of all the cuffs I’ve tried thus far, these are my favorite. I love the leather feel, for one, and the endurance of the material. I’ve used these regularly for over a year and they still look very nice and show nearly no signs of wear and tear. The only downside I found was the first time I wore them for an extended period of time, to a fetish party. It was hot, so I was sweating a lot, and the red dye bled a little onto my wrists. It washed off easily, though, so I wouldn’t say it’s that big of a deal. Just don’t leave your victim cuffed to the bed in a hot room on white sheets for too long!

Care and Maintenance

I don’t do anything too special to store these cuffs. They get a quick wipe down (normally with baby wipes) and thrown back into the toy box with everything else.

Great Beginner Vibe

The Spellbound Stud Double Jack is a great toy for beginners since its design and performance is unthreatening. It’s a good introduction to dual stimulation and to vibrators in general since the toy has such a wide range of user controlled settings.

Pros: Easy to use, strong internal vibration, waterproof

Cons: Angle between the internal part and the clitoral part isn’t quite right

Use

The best use for this vibrator is for vaginal insertion. It’s built to stimulate the vagina (hopefully the G-spot) and the clitoris at the same time, though I think this product is best for beginners at dual stimulation. While it can be used with a partner, I think its intended use is better left for solo times. With a partner, the vibrations can serve as a sort of sensation play device on other sensitive areas such as on the nipples. I wouldn’t recommend using it if you share a room with someone and don’t want the other person to know what you’re doing, though.

Material/Texture

This is a very unthreatening toy, as far as feel goes. It’s smooth, tasteless, and odorless. There are a few ridges on the portion to be inserted that feel nice, but they’re nothing too exciting. After the initial insertion, you hardly feel those ridges at all. This vibrator is very firm, however, so don’t expect it to have a lot of give.

Design/Shape/Size

Width and length were exactly what I like. It’s just enough for you to feel like there’s something there without having to really stretch around it, which, again, makes it perfect for the first time vibrator user. The one major drawback, however, was that the clitoral attachment wasn’t positioned very well to actually reach where it’s supposed to. In order to actually have clitoral contact, you will have to maneuver the inserted part back some, moving it off of the G-spot completely, which isn’t nearly as exciting.

The vibrations in the inserted portion can be turned up quite high, which is awesome if you like strong vibrations, and turned low when you want just a little tease. In the clitoral attachment, however, you aren’t going to feel any vibrations at all, unless the toy is turned pretty far up. That could be a plus for new users, but for girls who like a stronger stimulation on the clitoris, you’re not really going to get it from this toy.

The size is discreet for hiding. At a little over seven inches in length, it fits nicely into any sort of hidey-hole you need (ahem, sock drawer). The sound makes this toy not as discreet, as the vibrations can get fairly loud when turned up. Again, as it’s not a huge toy, travel is easy. The batteries are easily replaceable, only two AA batteries are required, so you could even take your new toy on a world tour and not worry about carting around adapters or transformers.

The toy works by twisting the knob at the base. The more you turn, the higher the vibration. The low end is very, very low, but the high end can cause the vibrator to roll all over the bed if you let it free. The high end is also pretty loud, so make sure you have privacy before using or turn the radio up. The vibration is great in the part to be inserted, but as mentioned, in the clitoral attachment, it’s not that great unless turned up all the way. If you like strong internal vibration paired with a light buzz on the clitoris, then this is perfect.

When the base (where the batteries go) is closed tightly, the toy is completely waterproof. This makes it very easy to clean, since you can just throw it in the sink and wash away. It works just the same in the water as it does on dry land, though be sure to not twist the cap off when trying to adjust the vibration controls. Batteries and water just do not mix.

Care and Maintenance

Since this toy is waterproof, it’s very easy to clean. Everything seems to just wash right off without having to scrub or anything like that. After use, I wash it immediately, take the batteries out (it’ll make them last longer), and throw it into our toy bin.

I’ve used it with Astroglide lube, and there’s no cross reaction or anything like that. Additional lube is not required, however, to use this vibrator.

Q-teeze is Just a Tease

If you’re looking for a quiet, discreet travel vibrator, save your money for another vibe. This one looks like it’d be great, but because it doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to and the vibrations are too weak to actually get anyone off, you’ll end up being more frustrated than you were before if you try using this one. Good idea, but not well executed.

Use

The intended use for the Q-teeze is as a clitoral stimulator. It provides very light vibrations along the entire length, which is very, very short, so don’t bother using it for insertion. You’ll really understand the the phrase “Is it in yet?” if you do want a toy for insertion. Since it is small, however, it is easy to hide.The Q-teeze could be a good toy for someone who is brand new to vibrators or someone who is extremely sensitive. By extremely sensitive, I mean someone who can get off by the rubbing of her jeans alone; otherwise you’ll need a bit more than the vibrations of this toy. Ideally, the best use is alone, since your partner can provide more stimulation using fingers or any other method of play than this toy can.

Material/Texture

The Q-teeze is very smooth and soft. The tip is even a bit squishy, which actually tends to work quite well for clitoral stimulation since we girls know that something hard and sharp in that area can hurt. There is no smell or taste to the toy.

Design/Shape/Size

The shape looks interesting, which was the entire reason I wanted to try the Q-teeze. The design added absolutely no function, which left me wondering what was the point of this toy. The size is a bit small, especially since it’s advertised to be good for shallow penetration. You won’t feel this toy at all in you, and definitely won’t feel the vibrations internally.

While small, the size isn’t intimidating at all, which may make it more accessible to beginners. It’s light, so it’s also easy to store somewhere discreet and ideally suitable for travel. The battery performance may impede this discretion, however.

Functions/Performance/Controls

The instructions said that the Q-teeze had three levels or settings, and these were controlled by the push button on the bottom of the toy. For me, however, I had the option of either on or off and the push button didn’t work at all. If the batteries were in the toy and the compartment closed, the toy would be on. To make sure it stayed off, the batteries had to be taken out. Four watch batteries are required, and these won’t last all that long. I used the Q-teeze twice, for about twenty minutes each time, and the batteries died completely at the end of the second session.

The vibrations go all along the length of the toy, but again, these are not strong vibrations at all. Normally I think I’m a relatively sensitive girl and can get off pretty easily, but this toy made it nearly impossible to get there. There just wasn’t enough vibration to make it worth using. The good news is that these vibrations were so weak that the toy was so quiet I could turn it on and my partner in the same room couldn’t hear it.

I didn’t test the Q-teeze extensively in the water, though I did submerge it completely to wash it. It appears to be completely waterproof, as advertised, though again, if the battery compartment is closed, which is required to use water on the toy, the toy will be on.

Care/Maintenance

Since the Q-teeze is waterproof, it’s easy to clean. The smooth surface also means it’s an easy to clean toy with just water and some soap. As mentioned already, I had to take the batteries out of it to store the toy, which is why I marked that it’s difficult to store: to make sure it didn’t accidentally come on (it will, even if you think you’ve figured out how to turn it off without disassembling it). While testing out the toy, I stored it with my other toys without a problem. Since this toy doesn’t work very well for me and takes so many batteries, I plan to throw it out.
